Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

Medical grade Dermal Fillers

As we age, we naturally lose the volume, fullness and plumpness in our face. This can contribute to looking and feeling tired and older in appearance. Dermal fillers, composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance naturally found in our skin, can be used to add volume back to specific areas of the face, restoring the structural foundation that we have lost.

Dermal fillers can also be used to improve facial balance, increase hydration and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leading to a rejuvenated and youthful appearance. There is a common misconception that fillers can make you look ‘fake’ and unnatural. However, when fillers are placed by an experienced clinician with high-grade medical products, the results are natural and subtle. If we do not think a treatment is for you, we will be open and honest and can discuss alternative treatments.

FAQ's

What if I don’t want to change the size of my lips but want to improve their appearance?

At Dr Olivia James we tailor each treatment to suit your desired results. Filler can be used to simply improve hydration in the lips, with only the slightest hint of additional volume.

FAQ's

Are fillers permanent?

Fillers are described as semi-permanent. Our bodies will naturally break down the filler material over time. This timescale can vary from patient to patient, depending on a number of factors such as increased exposure to sunlight, smoking, alcohol intake and muscle activity.

FAQ's

Are fillers painful?

Certain areas of filler can be more painful than others. At Dr Olivia James we provide numbing injections for lip filler specifically (one of the more painful areas). We also only use premium fillers that contain a numbing agent, meaning the injection is as comfortable as possible.

FAQ's

Can fillers be reversed?

Yes, fillers can be dissolved using an injection of enzyme. It is important to go to a medical practitioner who is able to identify and diagnose when filler needs to be dissolved.
